Speaking Info
God has graciously provided me opportunities to speak to the multitudes from the cradle to the grave on just about every topic imaginable. Like the apostle Paul, I consider myself a debtor to all men. Therefore in most cases, I accept any speaking challenge with the belief that God’s Word if delivered with a contextual sensitivity will connect with people’s hearts and minds.
I purposely do not list topics that I speak on for several reasons:
- The list would be exhausting
- I do not do stump speeches as I believe each audience is unique. I therefore tailor make each message for that specific audience.
If you believe I might be of service to you and your faith community, please contact me.
Be prepared to answer the following questions:
1. Who will be in the audience you’d like me to speak to. Tell me about your audience’s dominant belief systems, and what you are hoping to accomplish by bringing me in.
2. Where will this speaking engagement take place? Describe the room and what kind of an ambiance this place has. I am somewhat of an atmosphere technician and believe that there are many factors that contribute to true communication taking place.
3. Are you open to ideas on how to reach your objective?
4. What are you willing to do to insure that this speaking engagement is well attended and followed up?
After we dialogue through these questions, I will prayerfully consider whether I’m the right person to fulfill the divine assignment you have in mind. If I believe I am, I will propose some ideas for topics then. Below you will find the costs involved in bringing me in.
Typical Expenses
I have always committed myself to keeping my travel expenses to a minimum (no frills/no thrills). I have listed the typical expenses below to help you plan your budget accordingly.
$200 per message + expenses or a flat $500 per day + $250 non-refundable booking fee + expenses for as many speaking engagements you can set up in a 8 hour day
Mileage: To and from airport / To and from location (50 cents a mile-standard )
120 miles roundtrip to Cincinnati and Dayton’s airport, 180 miles for Columbus
Airfare: (Typically book the cheapest flight that has a reasonable itinerary)
Rental Car / Gas: (Cheapest economy car possible)
Meals: Click for Current Daily Per Diem Rate as allowable by the IRS
Tolls: (When applicable)
Airport Parking: $6 to $7 per day
Lodging: (I prefer to stay with someone to eliminate this expense.)
Payment
Payment is preferred in hand when I'm finished with you invited me in to do. However, extenuating circumstances sometimes makes this unfeasible. In such cases, the expectation from my end is that the check would be cut and sent within one week of my visit unless agreed upon otherwise. Please make sure to separate the reimbursable expenses from the honorarium for IRS purposes. This breakdown is clearly laid out on the expense sheet I will hand over to you when we settle up. All checks should be made out and sent to me.
